Please join JJ and Genevieve June 20, 2025 as we celebrate our wedding in O‘ahu.
You are an cherished member of our Ohana. This is a celebration of our union, and by extension a celebration of the beloved members of our community.
How we Met
Dec 3, 2022 Genevieve’s best friend and mutual friend of JJ (Morgan, MOH) invited both of them on a group hike with the suspicion that they would hit it off. Sparks flew after they spent the afternoon bonding over freakily similar values, life paths, and interests. After the hike the group made their way to the Halualoa Christmas Light Festival. That night as JJ & Genevieve danced in the rain under the twinkling Christmas lights to the local ukulele orchestra, JJ spun Genevieve out, then pulled her in for their first kiss.
Our Relationship
The couple’s first official date was a 10 mile hike up Mauna Kea (that Genevieve mistakenly thought was a 2 mile hike) January 1st, 2023. Over the course of many dates atop volcanoes, under the sea, and everywhere in between, they fell in love. In October of 2023 they moved in, blended their pack of 3 dogs, managed a DIY dog rescue, fostered 4 more dogs and adopted a 4th and 5th to their family.
The Engagement
June 19, 2024 after completing a 12 mile summit hike, JJ proposed at the top of Mauna Loa volcano with a sapphire ring he hand forged. The sacred Hawaiian volcanoes have always been a part of their love story. Mauna Loa was erupting for the first time in nearly 40 years when they met, and hiking Mauna Kea on the anniversary of their first date on January 1st has become a relationship tradition.
